Meat and Co, Melbourne Southbank

I was very excited about taking my visitors to dine in Meat and Co, you know, just to try out an Aussie dining experience. We went there for lunch and got the Lunch specials which includes a drink each; house wine, soft drinks or beer.

The place had a modern funky feel to it. It was casual and yet, very hip. We sat on a couch chair with big cushions. Comfy!

So anyway, the meal was very tasty, presentation was simple and basic. You don't get a salad or veges, not even as a garnish on the plate. Other than that, the meal was lovely. My only critic of our dining experience was the way we got hit with water charges.

No one had explained to us at the table when seated, that we were going to be charged for water. Where are we, living in a third world country? Who charges for water? We ordered water for the table. If I had known that the bottles contained spring water although we didn't see waiter uncapped bottle, it was brought to table already opened, I would asked for tap water, had I been given the choice or even informed.

I thought that the bottle of water, was the way they served water in this trendy place, not poured from water jugs, ...Hmmm, not happy Jan! We didn't leave them any tips.
